The rear plunging cups transfer torque from the rear gearbox to the rear half-shafts of the car. Removed excess weight from the tabs that connect the cups to the gear. Redesigned the plunging internals to accommodate new half-shaft joints. To tighten tolerances and remove tool chatter, changed the manufacturing process, making for an easier assembly. The changes resulted in a 6% weight loss and a 21% inertia reduction.
